Cookies and local storage

The website currently uses no advertising or measurement cookies. Some preferences are stored on your device.

Current use

We use no advertising, measurement, or remote-personalization cookies. No consent panel is loaded because those uses are inactive.

Website delivery may require temporary protocol data, but no non-necessary cookie is used for browsing.

Persistent preferences

smilechat-theme remembers light or dark mode; smilechat-accessibility-preferences stores reading adjustments; smilechat-reading-size stores editorial size; smilechat-faq-open-history remembers opened questions; smilechat-beta-games-v1 keeps local games.

These keys remain until you clear them through the website or browser. They are not sent as an advertising profile.

Tab data

smilechat-local-experience-notice-v1 remembers that you saw the local notice. smilechat-preview-track, smilechat-preview-volume, and smilechat-preview-temporary-duration store conversation controls.

smilechat-emoticon-recents-v2, smilechat-local-preferences-v4, and smilechat-local-profile-v4 remember experience choices. The browser removes them when the tab session ends according to its settings.

Temporary files

Files chosen for a preview use temporary local addresses in memory. They are removed when replaced, when the view closes, or when the page reloads.

They are not cookies and do not turn the file into a remote profile.

How to clear them

You can reset preferences through available controls or clear site data in browser settings. The experience remains readable if local storage is unavailable.

Clearing this data removes settings from this browser; it does not affect emails you sent or a newsletter request, which is withdrawn through its form.
